Postnatal Doula and Breastfeeding Counsellor

A little more about me…

I live with my husband, 3 children and dog near Guildford, Surrey. I had very different postnatal experiences with each of my children and the joys and struggles I went through ignited my interest in supporting families during this hugely important time in our lives. I trained with Developing Doulas in 2021 and haven’t looked back! It is such a privilege to support families during this momentous period, to enable them to feel looked after and supported whilst navigating their parenthood journey.

One area of postnatal care I am particularly passionate about is infant feeding, and I have trained with the ABM, qualifying as a Peer Supporter in 2021 and more recently as a Breastfeeding Counsellor. I volunteer with a local NHS drop-in service, and the National Breastfeeding Helpline, and in addition to my doula services, I offer Infant Feeding support to those who need a little extra help with any feeding situation (breastfeeding or bottle feeding), both in the early days and beyond.

My Background

My previous career was as a Careers Consultant, where I supported individuals navigating change in their working lives. I worked in many different arenas such as Welfare to Work, Secondary Education, and Higher Education, and freelanced when I had my three children. I loved it but felt ready for a change in 2021 when I decided to finally act on my dream to train and work in the doula and infant-feeding field. Many of the skills I gained as a Careers Consultant translate very well to supporting clients as a doula, and it is a privilege to be able to utilise these to help people navigate arguably the biggest change in life, having a baby!
